Question:

If this months readers have mostly been from Macs, does that mean that cool people are reading me? lol. just kidding.

Anyway, I got a  nice surprise today...there is another closet behind the door of our bedroom!!! In addition, the lights can be turned off by a switch that is on the wall by the bed and its down low so noone can see it! How great is that. No more, "I WAS IN BED FIRST!!YOURE CLOSER!!! I dont care, Ill sleep with the light on, Im not getting up!" hahaha.

Some more unexpected expenses as far as getting some things turned on or off or transferred but its cool. Next task? punch a hole through the key, which happens to be a card. I dont even wanna THINK about losing that thing, which is a very likely thing to happen.

When are we moving? I dont know.It doesnt feel like a rush and we dont have ANYTHING packed, lol. We probably need to do something about that.We have this weekend though and can no doubt do some damage. I hope to get rid of two pieces of furniture before we leave. One is a dresser
buy me!!

Going for 845 at ikea and not assembled. great condition and going for 450 in AD.if interested, message me!

Turning Tides

6 months ago I wasn't to happy with my situation. I was feeling stifled in terms of teaching time and a  host of other things and my main focus in life was to get OUT.  I must say that the year has progressed rather nicely and Im not feeling the same way about the year. Thanks to my coteacher, who understands what the kids need and provides those things even when someone says otherwise,we  are having a great year! I can't say that I would feel this way with another teacher. Our classroom runs smoothly and the kids are self sufficient. Today, two kids decided to make a book in the science center. The books were pre made with the title and had two pages for them to draw animals or write. They were provided with real pictures of animals to choose from and had been given instructions previously about their options (to draw animals they saw at the zoo, animals from the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar, or to use the pictures if necessary). We also started this week putting ...

Testyyyyyy

I sit here watching HGTV and typing away on my computer. Ive been doing this for days now. Apartment is pretty much empty and the hubby is there getting rid of the last few things before working one last weekend and coming home. People ask if Im excited yet and I dont think that it has hit me quite yet. I mean, I am excited but not like I will be when I get the ticket, or even when I get ready to board the plane, or especially when I finally get on Etihad!!! My legs are propped over my knee roller, which I got (again) today for the last stretch of this whole cast situation. Its cool and Im thankful to be healing properly and relaxing at home not doing too much of anything. I have awhile before I am forced to condence one last time before the final move. I am not looking forward to that task. I write before my departure with the next group in mind. I spent months reading about the experience of others and researching any and everything I could about Abu Dhabi and the UAE. Out of eve...

Moving on Up!!

So I was too tired to write about the adventure I had in trying to find our apartment. As there are no street addresses here people give ONLY landmarks and tell you which lights to go through,to,past and which to turn at. Even though Im not one to remember streed signs it can be quite confusing and I now know that having the street signs helps a bit. Whenever I do decide to get a car, I will definitely get a GPS. Im surprised that the keys didnt burn a hole in my pocket last night and I slept rather well. It helped that the night before I only got a few hours of sleep. Ok, so After school today, which was the first day,I couldnt wait to get hold of Rachel after Id gotten directions again. We were most pleasantly surrpised to find it. We knew we'd passed and/or seen it as we searched yesterday and it was (as he said) green, lol. If I could come up with a gripe, it would be that the rooms are a little small and have no wardrobes BUT that isnt an issue at all for me. I am most pl...
