The following is a bit of a rant.
It's only natural, or at least it has become so, that we all want to have our cake and eat it too. Sometimes we are much like kids in that we don't want to do those (not so fun) responsible things. I get it. I do...but don't look at me like I have two heads when I'm not participating in frivolous spending just because it's so easy to do here.
Like my lovely aunt likes to say, I've been feeling some kind of way. And that's not a bad thing. I'm thinking maybe the honeymoon is over. And by that I mean that I'm not spending money I don't want to spend...probably not spending money I DO want to spend, lol, and not going ...pretty much anywhere. Just like at home!
And no, this does not mean my life is miserable. It doesn't mean that I don't have a life, or that I'm depressed, or that I'm sitting on a stockpile of money and you should be like me and "save all your money".
I have responsibilities and goals that are important to me.And as shocking as it may sound, it's part of the reason why I came over here. There is always something to see and do but since I can't have my cake and eat it too there are three things at the top of my list-taking care of said responsibilities, working toward achieving my goals, and doing some leisurely activities with (or without) my husband. So while I would love to pick up and go whenever there is an extended break-I can't. Same goes for eating at all the wonderful places the city has to offer or enjoying the leisurely activities that are so much fun here.
Might I also add-as an introvert I do not necessarily enjoy the same things my outgoing counterparts do. And in their eyes they see this as strange and many have no problem sharing/showing this. Aside from that being a rude and inappropriate response...well, that's all it is. No, I'm not like you. Nor do I desire to be. I enjoy my own company very much so and at the end of the day...or better yet at the end of the month, I still have money in my pocket, lol.
So, the moral of the story is this: If you want to come over and enjoy a nice evening at my house feel free. I have tea out the yinyang; we can enjoy the terrace with pools and sauna/steam room, play a game, watch a movie, etc all for pennies of your time. But if this isn't your cup of tea, I promise not to look at you like you have two heads and I will have as much fun (possibly even more fun) doing it all by myself.
