Lost in Translation

"OH MY GOSH!!!"

I said this quite a few times. I found myself getting loud on the phone, getting loud in the shop...I just couldnt help myself!

This was the third time my car had been in for AC issues. Nevermind the fact that its under warranty. After getting the entire system replaced, I felt like I shouldnt have been in there at all. I dropped the car off before leaving and told them Id pick it up in two weeks. Upon return he told me theyd done the regular service and that nothing was wrong with the AC. That the car was low on gas and that was why it wasnt cooling. They took out the gas and replaced it and it was ok.

"WHAT?!?!?!?"

Once there,we continued this conversation. One that I thought would surely make my head explode. I asked him to listen to me and not speak because he wasnt getting what I was saying. "I know the gas was low when I turned the car in but it has nothing to do with the AC...you put gas in the car and now my AC is working???...this is not my first car...there has to be something wrong because its hot air on idle and I dont want to come back in here for the same thing once the warranty is over..."

Again, my voice crept up...I was getting frustrated and Im not sure what he was feeling because his eyes looked a little wattery and during the conversation he wiped them with his tissue,lol. Once I finished my rant he understood what the problem was...

By gas, he meant freon.
By gas, I meant "petrol".

We laughed and realized that was the problem and I was happy to know that my car was indeed fixed. What is beyond me, though, is that those geniuses didnt think to top it off-or replace it outright-after changing out the system.ugh.

What really matters??? My AC is cooooooooooool...something my and my car mates will be pleased with!!

Turning Tides

6 months ago I wasn't to happy with my situation. I was feeling stifled in terms of teaching time and a  host of other things and my main focus in life was to get OUT.  I must say that the year has progressed rather nicely and Im not feeling the same way about the year. Thanks to my coteacher, who understands what the kids need and provides those things even when someone says otherwise,we  are having a great year! I can't say that I would feel this way with another teacher. Our classroom runs smoothly and the kids are self sufficient. Today, two kids decided to make a book in the science center. The books were pre made with the title and had two pages for them to draw animals or write. should I? shouldnt I? THAT is the question... horror stories, complaints,regrets in opposition with people who speak as if they have no plans on returning to the previous dwelling place. What to believe? Are the kids hellians or little angels? Is the classroom fully stocked or bare?Will you have admin support, admin indifference,or admin from Hades? Sadly, noone can answer this question and not because of "a lack of freedom of speech". Its because everything-in every country-is subjective. And because if one is going to pack up and live in another country for a couple years, this would be one of the more difficult places to do so as you are used to life thats quite different from being here.
