ARE.YOU.KIDDING.ME?!?!?!?

Ok, so today was...interesting...

I havent been feeling my best lately. And normally its from kid germs-this time it was from an adult.Anyway, Ive been pushing through scratchy throat, sneezing the most juicy sneezes (eeew), coughing, dealing with congestion, stopped up nose (which is dry from all the blowing), etc. It started slowly, acted like it was going away, and then started up again.

This morning I got up to get ready for work but I just couldnt do it. I felt horrible.I got back in bed and then got up again to make a second attempt only to get back in bed. I was prolonging the inevitable and my body needed rest. After all, it does play a part in your body healing itself. But Im no doctor so what do I know???

I went to the doctor and it was nearly empty. Felt like my lucky day...until I got to the part of asking for  a note/excuse for today.

"you are fine. . .I dont give sick notes for colds. . .one day of rest is not going to make you feel better..."

I

was

so

mad.

But wait, back up. At first, I was in disbelief. Did a doctor just tell me that rest wouldnt do anything for me, as a sick person??? I rebutted her at first, but soon realized that there was no point in raising my voice more than I already had. It was best I end the conversation and I couldnt let her finish her explanation to do so. I went and asked for another doctor-problem solved.

But not really because there was another copay (no biggie in the scheme of things). In addition, this is not a hospital policy-its hers. shes an idiot and I stand firm in that assessment. And regardless of what I "have" to go in for, I will walk out if she is the attendee.

On a lighter note, I had to laugh at myself after getting the meds. Unlike before, we have to pay for a percentage of our meds. Usually the price is so low, you just scrape the change out of your purse.Today, my initial reaction was, "eleven dirham! Why are these meds so expensive?!" I quickly caught the ridiculousness of what I was saying and payed so I could go home and continue to rest.

Hopefully, I dont have to see that place for a long while!

Moroccanoil Soap

If youve read this blog for any length of time, Im sure youve gotten your laughs off my Moroccan bath experience. As crazy as that was for me, i believe I will be going to get one again, though at a much better establishment! Today, I ran across this product  And while waiting in line for a price, an Arabic lady gave it the once over, looked inside, and nodded her head in approval of what was inside. After seeing it was only 9.50 dhm, I got another. Once I try it, I will certainly give a review! In the meantime, here is information about the product-or products like this: Moroccan Black Soap and How To Use It The black soap is part of the traditional hammam ritual. It is the first treatment in oriental public bath. With a texture of butter, this natural vegetable paste based with black olives is rich in vitamin E. It is obtained from a mixture of oil and crushed olives, soaked in salt and potash. In the nineteenth century it was used as a product of Dermatology and late...

Braces in the UAE

This has been a long time coming. Ive wanted braces since forever. At home it wasnt in the budget. Here, the first year went by and I decided that if I didnt get them this year, I would probably keep putting it off. So I start the process of looking. Requirements? clean, efficient,KNOWLEDGEABLE, affordable. That was pretty much what I wanted. After some searching, I realized that I couldn't pay 25000 dirham...didn't really want to pay 14000 but would if I had to...and then I came across an  ortho place  in Dubai. hmmmmmm. Dubai? Perks were: no down payment,500 dh each visit, retainer included. I was in. So I called and went hoping against all hope that it would be more than the regular consultation because Id driven from Abu Dhabi! Fortunately, they xrayed me and told me about the process a bit. I didn't know what to ask so I took my  papers after signing to the "deal" and went home with the biggest grin ever on my face. I WAS GETTING BRACES! And then I...
