Saba Al Khair!

I wake up in the morning and walk into my clean, clutter free...did I mention CUTE? Living room and I am HAPPY!

The icing on the cake is the scented oil I just got from home center. It makes everything complete. Id spend some of my last dollars on something to make my home smell good. Its my weakness.

Its rather cool today and seems like some people can never be happy. When it began to show hints of possibly getting too warm I became a little squirmish with the anticipation of melting right into the ground. Now that its cooler, Im a little sad as my evening at the beach on Wed wasnt as enjoyable as Id hoped and today we are going to hang at the actual beach...meaning the sand, which I havent done since Ive been here. Well see how it goes and how long I stay out there.

Im more ready for tonites festivities which include going to see the show and possibly trying out some of my new moves on the floor. Since we started practicing at home Ive become a bit more confident in the steps. Now I can NOT have that stupid look on my face while Im dancing. The one that screams BEGINNER! lol.

Gotta go be productive.
Yeah, I know its Friday but I just cant help myself.

It's That Time Again

Transfer time. I requested a transfer AND interviewed in a neighboring county. I even had an in (maybe) with a Teacher of the Year at a pretty good school that was about 15 mins from my house and brand new. I was hopeful but never too excited. May 5th is the last day to hear back and my district doesn't prioritize updating parts of their webpage so no job updates. Meanwhile, I know where I stand with the other county because they update their job posts as jobs are filled. Yet another reason their county is better than ours. But I digress... I was never an optimistic person so from the jump, I figured my teammates would get transferred even though I was ready to get out as soon as I got there. Turning Tides

6 months ago I wasn't to happy with my situation. I was feeling stifled in terms of teaching time and a  host of other things and my main focus in life was to get OUT.  I must say that the year has progressed rather nicely and Im not feeling the same way about the year. Thanks to my coteacher, who understands what the kids need and provides those things even when someone says otherwise,we  are having a great year! I can't say that I would feel this way with another teacher. Our classroom runs smoothly and the kids are self sufficient. Today, two kids decided to make a book in the science center. The books were pre made with the title and had two pages for them to draw animals or write. They were provided with real pictures of animals to choose from and had been given instructions previously about their options (to draw animals they saw at the zoo, animals from the book The Very Hungry Caterpillar, or to use the pictures if necessary). Moving on Up!!

So I was too tired to write about the adventure I had in trying to find our apartment. As there are no street addresses here people give ONLY landmarks and tell you which lights to go through,to,past and which to turn at. Even though Im not one to remember streed signs it can be quite confusing and I now know that having the street signs helps a bit. Whenever I do decide to get a car, I will definitely get a GPS. Im surprised that the keys didnt burn a hole in my pocket last night and I slept rather well. It helped that the night before I only got a few hours of sleep. Ok, so After school today, which was the first day,I couldnt wait to get hold of Rachel after Id gotten directions again. We were most pleasantly surrpised to find it. We knew we'd passed and/or seen it as we searched yesterday and it was (as he said) green,lol.
