Happy Anniversary

and,of course, Merry Christmas!

A year ago today I waited patiently for the arrival of my most favorite earthly gift...

My husband :-).

Aside from that, there werent any festivities going on in my/our day. I remember it like it was yesterday. I woke up early to clean the house and to go out shopping for anything I needed before he got there. I went to get a pedi/mani and came home to nap.

After he'd left the US, I was unable to track his location anymore. Smart but annoying. At some point I was thankful I couldnt track it. A mere computer glitch of me no longer being able to see the plane would have sent me to the crazy house wondering where my love was! lol.

My Emirati friend Ahmed so kindly gave me a pretty neclace to wear when we picked him up and volunteered to take me to the airport that evening to get him. I was calm and happy. I had a hint of butterflies in my stomach. It was almost like we were teenagers again. We got there and I gave them his visa and learned that the plane had indeed landed. I looked around for an inconspicuous place to stand and watch. I wanted to see him the moment he walked out the door but I didnt want him to see me. Ahmed left to give us privacy.I thought that was nice and cute of him, lol.

After what seemed like forever, he emerged. I went the long way to get to him, ensuring my invisibility. I rushed to him and kissed him on his cheeks (Id been here long enough to know that wasnt going to be a problem, lol) and hugged him so tightly. I was happy for him to join me on this journey and appreciated the time we had apart (from the middle of Oct to Dec 25).

I dont know how many Christmas' we will be here but it is my desire that each one get better and better!

This will do

So I just havent made it around to making a video of the place.Part of that is because my phone, which had the great camera on it,is no longer. And leave it to me to buy a cute phone with a horrible camera.yes, I have a camera with video but its just too much hassle. At least I think so. And because Im supposed to be honing my craft, I decided to post my place in pictures. Enjoy. My color palette all these switches for one little bathroom no tv. . .yet just the two of us! I love this contraption, lol and on the off times that this occurs. . . I just use my teacher dry erase marker, lmbo So,so glad to finally be clutter free! cleaning takes one day a week besides the every other day of sweeping bc its super dusty here.I have ONE pile of stuff left and thats only because I need a book shelf.Thats coming soon.

Paradise?

So Ive been thinking about a move to Reem Island  . Not because I have a bad place (I dont) or because Im in a bad location (Im not),but because we plan on being here long term and this place has much more of a home feel as there are so many amenities there. The only drawback is the the location, which is also nice as far as I know right now. Only thing is its too close to Tourist Club and thats not a place I care for too much. And if the link above doesnt convince someone maybe the future plans  will! We have all that we would need to stay there pretty much and this place has...drumroooooooollllll-CLOSETS! Once of them even a walk in. It may sound like it but I dont have my hopes up and Im not even excited about it at this point. Im just looking at my options. This would be the one and only time youd catch me living on an island. My only requirement? That I live on a  bottom lower level floor. Should be an easy enough request as most people want to be higher...

Braces in the UAE

This has been a long time coming. Ive wanted braces since forever. At home it wasnt in the budget. Here, the first year went by and I decided that if I didnt get them this year, I would probably keep putting it off. So I start the process of looking. Requirements? clean, efficient,KNOWLEDGEABLE, affordable. That was pretty much what I wanted. After some searching, I realized that I couldn't pay 25000 dirham...didn't really want to pay 14000 but would if I had to...and then I came across an  ortho place  in Dubai. hmmmmmm. Dubai? Perks were: no down payment,500 dh each visit, retainer included. I was in. So I called and went hoping against all hope that it would be more than the regular consultation because Id driven from Abu Dhabi! Fortunately, they xrayed me and told me about the process a bit. I didn't know what to ask so I took my  papers after signing to the "deal" and went home with the biggest grin ever on my face. I WAS GETTING BRACES! And then I...
