planning for the future

its no easy feat but has to be done. Its a delicate balance when trying to live for the moment while being responsible financially and thinking about preparing for your future. It can be done. Right now we are planning for/thinking about the future. Its important not to put all your eggs in one basket, and though some call me pessimistic, I also entertain worst case scenarios so that I will have some sort of idea what I may be able to do should the circumstance present itself. Add to that, not many things go as you plan them...your wheels could turn endlessly!

The point is this:

I keep abreast of potential opportunities, weigh them out as best I (we) can, and keep them in mind when looking toward the future. We are enjoying the life we have, experiencing new things but mainly living the "American dream" while not in America,lol. To me,that means going to a job that you enjoy, having an adequate amount of leisure time, food in your house, the means to indulge here in there on misc. items and/or culinary treats, being able to pay your bills, travel, and put some money away towards your future. These things may be easier (or more difficult) depending on one's situation but very few of these things would be possible if I were at home right now. The past few years have caused me to look at where I may live based on the quality of life I can have being there.


With that in mind,

the road is wide open and we will see whether there is a detour ahead in our future.

Turning Tides

6 months ago I wasn't to happy with my situation. I was feeling stifled in terms of teaching time and a  host of other things and my main focus in life was to get OUT.  I must say that the year has progressed rather nicely and Im not feeling the same way about the year. Thanks to my coteacher, who understands what the kids need and provides those things even when someone says otherwise,we  are having a great year! I can't say that I would feel this way with another teacher. Our classroom runs smoothly and the kids are self sufficient. Today, two kids decided to make a book in the science center. The books were pre made with the title and had two pages for them to draw animals or write. should I? shouldnt I? THAT is the question... horror stories, complaints,regrets in opposition with people who speak as if they have no plans on returning to the previous dwelling place. What to believe? Are the kids hellians or little angels? Is the classroom fully stocked or bare?Will you have admin support, admin indifference,or admin from Hades? Sadly, noone can answer this question and not because of "a lack of freedom of speech". Its because everything-in every country-is subjective.
