Im So Lame

I didn't want to go to work today.
I don't want to go to work tomorrow.
But Ill probably go.


I feel like Ive swallowed a porcupine and I don't feel like talking.Something I have to do at work.Actually,Ive worked a couple times with no voice so it is doable.Still, I don't want to!
Of course, I could stay home tomorrow, and it probably would have happened if it weren't for
several things that happened today.
1.the substitute wants to bake cake tomorrow as we are on the community helpers unit
2.we got new stuff in school today!!!!! computer, carpet,plush seating for the reading center
3.there was something else but idk at this moment.

anyway, I am SO EXCITED that one computer is going next to the reading center so that we can finally have a listening center!!!!!!!! Im so happy, Ive been wanting this for about three years. I was about to make some cds for some books I acquired from the library but this is a better option because we have book with cds that correspond with their arabic letters. the stories can also play in english and the story is visual.I can also download videos from youtube for them to enjoy.They are going to LOVE IT.

That in addition to the kitchen we just got the other day.I probably don't even need a voice for the rest of the week,lol. Pretty soon our school will look like a regular school!

I also had a relative come in to tell me how pleased she was with her nephew's progress in class.Now, he spoke english before coming.He was actually better in it than arabic which was strange. Needless to say, he is catching on to literacy concepts like wild fire.Im happy that she came in for he feedback. it was nice to hear. All the parents that come in make mention of their child loving class.Mission accomplished *wink*.

6 months ago I wasn't to happy with my situation. I was feeling stifled in terms of teaching time and a  host of other things and my main focus in life was to get OUT.  I must say that the year has progressed rather nicely and Im not feeling the same way about the year. Thanks to my coteacher, who understands what the kids need and provides those things even when someone says otherwise,we  are having a great year! I can't say that I would feel this way with another teacher. Our classroom runs smoothly and the kids are self sufficient. Today, two kids decided to make a book in the science center. Testyyyyyy

I sit here watching HGTV and typing away on my computer. Ive been doing this for days now. Apartment is pretty much empty and the hubby is there getting rid of the last few things before working one last weekend and coming home. People ask if Im excited yet and I dont think that it has hit me quite yet. I mean, I am excited but not like I will be when I get the ticket, or even when I get ready to board the plane, or especially when I finally get on Etihad!!! My legs are propped over my knee roller, which I got (again) today for the last stretch of this whole cast situation. Its cool and Im thankful to be healing properly and relaxing at home not doing too much of anything. I have awhile before I am forced to condence one last time before the final move. I am not looking forward to that task. I write before my departure with the next group in mind. you have to make a decision about what is ok to buy here and what you should send for. For instance, if its something I should just learn to live without, I dont bother. If Im home visiting, I make a decision about whether I should bring it back. Like poultry seasoning (for a proper southern,savory dressing aka stuffing). I brought enough to last me until my next trip home. Other things, like shampoo or some hair products. I really couldnt bring enough to last as those things are heavy so I make do with what is here.Luckily, my kind of hair is resilient to the water so Im not having much problems aside from dryness which coconut water seems to be helping with. Anyway. One thing I made sure to bring enough of was bras. And I had so many that it wasnt necessary to get some last year. But now? Now its about the time to figure something out.
