3 things

1. I came home, ate a 'snack', and went to sleep to wake around 6. I HAVE A WEDDING TO PREPARE FOR!! We were told to get there around 930. Yes, I have to be at school tomorrow at 730. It will be an INTERESTING day. Oh, and night, of course! This happened much sooner than I expected.

2.Around 90 new teachers are coming. Im pleased that the group is small. I suspect that they will be ok definitely. Our group was half that size and both groups are but a small portion of the massive summer groups. I hope this is a trend that sticks and their experience and transition will, undoubtedly, be much smoother. Congrats to those coming. When packing, leave expectations at home. They are heavy and will bog you down!!

3.hmmm. What was three?shoooot!!!!!!! I dont know BUT I sent for my husbands visa yesterday and it has been marked URGENT. Im happy for the break we had. Missing each other is sometimes a good thing. When he comes, I will be a tour guide-a great one I hope. . .There is still lots I havent seen.

oh, and Ill add a fourth. The stress of having a student teacher is gone. She understands the difficulty of language acquisition and I dont look stupid to her Im sure, lol. That was my only concern. I have been able to teach her a lot and we talk about work as well as the culture. She is a sweetheart and after one observation, she implemented my suggestions about her teaching. I was happy for her observation today with her professor. She seems to be a quick learner. Its hard for her to say pudding and its hard
for me to say 'listen' in Arabic, lol.

*there will be no pictures of the wedding as they are not allowed. I will, however, do my best to etch the details onto my brain so as to write about the wonderful and very private experience I am about to have. They say seeing is believing but you will simply have to take my word for it.

Ma salama for now my silent readers ;P

And because Im supposed to be honing my craft, I decided to post my place in pictures. Enjoy. My color palette all these switches for one little bathroom no tv. . .yet just the two of us! I love this contraption, lol and on the off times that this occurs. . . Moroccanoil Soap

If youve read this blog for any length of time, Im sure youve gotten your laughs off my Moroccan bath experience. As crazy as that was for me, i believe I will be going to get one again, though at a much better establishment! Today, I ran across this product  And while waiting in line for a price, an Arabic lady gave it the once over, looked inside, and nodded her head in approval of what was inside. After seeing it was only 9.50 dhm, I got another. Once I try it, I will certainly give a review! In the meantime, here is information about the product-or products like this: Moroccan Black Soap and How To Use It The black soap is part of the traditional hammam ritual. It is the first treatment in oriental public bath. With a texture of butter, this natural vegetable paste based with black olives is rich in vitamin E. It is obtained from a mixture of oil and crushed olives, soaked in salt and potash. In the nineteenth century it was used as a product of Dermatology and late...

Braces in the UAE

This has been a long time coming. Ive wanted braces since forever. At home it wasnt in the budget. Here, the first year went by and I decided that if I didnt get them this year, I would probably keep putting it off. So I start the process of looking. Requirements? clean, efficient,KNOWLEDGEABLE, affordable. That was pretty much what I wanted. After some searching, I realized that I couldn't pay 25000 dirham...didn't really want to pay 14000 but would if I had to...and then I came across an  ortho place  in Dubai. hmmmmmm. Dubai? Perks were: no down payment,500 dh each visit, retainer included. I was in. So I called and went hoping against all hope that it would be more than the regular consultation because Id driven from Abu Dhabi! Fortunately, they xrayed me and told me about the process a bit. I didn't know what to ask so I took my  papers after signing to the "deal" and went home with the biggest grin ever on my face. I WAS GETTING BRACES! And then I...
