what a week

This week had some challenges. A crazy night of losing my phone and trying to get a purchased wardrobe delivered to the person who paid me for it without having her address or phone number made for a not so good night. The next day at work didnt help and the silliness I had to endure sent me over the edge. Im sure my coteacher thought I wanted to kill her and her limited English prohibited me from properly explaining to her my belief system as  being the reason i was so irritated. That i was against decorating my room for the sake of decoration, and that it was currently set up FOR the kids and would continue to be set up for them and by them. What was happening before my eyes was too much for me when Id already been stressed from the night before without being able to relax or find resolve until the piece was delivered in one piece.

Went home after work, had a nice relaxing evening with some juice and my husband. Piece got delivered and I resumed my attitude of not taking anything personal and accepting the fact that there will be a few changes each year and I cant pick which things will take precedence. The rest of my week has been A-ok.

  • I got my glasses today. I can see so clearly.

  • My stomach hurts.I shouldnt have eaten that beef.

  • We got a tv. A wonderful friend let us use his after he got an upgrade.Theres not much on it though.
  • finally got our desk and a floor length mirror for the bedroom. Have also put up some art in the DR
  • I have a few pic posts to put up in addition to a video of the place in which we live. I need to get on the ball and update more.
  • still liking it here. Im sorry to hear about those who havent liked it, who have left, who are still here but hate it. I wish others would blog more about their experiences.Especially if they want their side to be heard.I do agree that every side should be heard. Even so, its hard to explain something like life. You just have to live it

order it!

you have to make a decision about what is ok to buy here and what you should send for. For instance, if its something I should just learn to live without, I dont bother. If Im home visiting, I make a decision about whether I should bring it back. Like poultry seasoning (for a proper southern, savory dressing aka stuffing). I brought enough to last me until my next trip home. Other things, like shampoo or some hair products. I really couldnt bring enough to last as those things are heavy so I make do with what is here.Luckily, my kind of hair is resilient to the water so Im not having much problems aside from dryness which coconut water seems to be helping with. Anyway. One thing I made sure to bring enough of was bras. And I had so many that it wasnt necessary to get some last year. But now? Now its about the time to figure something out. And if youre a lady, you know when you need to throw that bra out, lol. Its definitely about that time. And, yes, I could look here but Im not on ...

Moroccan Bath?

ok,so Im feeling a little vulnerable about his post but am posting it anyway. I know youre going to laugh and Im ok with that (I suppose). Here goes: Something told me that this wasnt going to be the experience Id imagined, dreamed of even. I walked in the room after B ranted and raved about it. I didnt know what to expect BUT based on the name, figured I had a pretty good idea. NOT SO. First, she didnt speak English.Only motioned for me to get undressed. "you want me to take off my clothes" she nodded, "yes". I reluctantly folded each piece of clothing and laid it on the bench as I resigned to the fact that this lady was going to see me naked.Completely.In addition, THERE WAS NO TUB IN THIS ROOM!!!!!!!! WHERE IS THE MOROCCAN BAAAAAAAAAATH?! "Im gonna kill ( )", I said to myself as I stood where she told me to, right beside her as she fixed the shower and began to wet me and wipe my body down with this soap. She then t...

The Beginning of the End

Last week I turned the key and entered my home from a vacation for the last time. I realized that I will miss my apartment. Who wouldn't? We have an amazing place when you think about it. Even if I dont use all the amenities, it is nice to have and I enjoy looking out the window each and every day! Going home was a success. Taking things home will,no doubt, reduce the stress of packing in the coming months. A RT ticket for 365 was a steal to say the least. Worth such a quick turnaround! Now comes the last term. It will be over before we blink an eye as Ramadan comes earlier each year. We are trying our best to condense the learning outcomes and lessons so we impart upon their little brains the basics and pray they retain it over the summer! Ive been here so long Im not even concerned about selling all our things. Im sure some of them will sell but everything else will be donated. I dont have the propensity to concern myself with it. I only wish it was easier to find someone...
